Saariselkä hillclimb will finish the winter season in Saariselkä on May 12, 2018.
Because of the last year’s snowy winter and long spring, the organizers of Saariselkä hillclimb do believe, that it’s possible to race on the slopes of Ski Saariselkä in mid-May. Last summer the slopes of Saariselkä were opened to skiers on June, so the plan is not impossible at all.
The Saariselkä hillclimb under the Finnish Motor Associations, which is organized for the third time, will be raced on the slopes of Kaunispää. For the viewers, track is easy to follow and it includes steep sections, high altitudes, gates and jumps.
“Now, after two very different spring times, we are much wiser with the hillclimb track construction. We are confident that, regardless the spring, the race will be built and we will be able to race the last hillclimb of the season”, primises Tero Lytz from the Ylä-Lapin Moottorikelkkailijat (Northern Lapland’s Snowmobilers).
The event is a winter season finale for the whole family. In addition to the competition itself, the crowd gets to enjoy relaxed and laid-back atmosphere of the event. The smallest members of the family get to try guided snowmobiling in the event area.
Proper race also means proper after-party!
