Christmas time in the Far North

The Polar Night and its magical colors set a very special scenery for the Christmas time in the Far North, some 260km North of the Arctic Circle. Christmas in Inari-Saariselkä is always white, with an abundance of winter activities and the joy of the holiday season. What to do during the Holidays

The Christmas peace declaration is given at the top of Kaunispää on 24.12 at 12noon. Christmas feasts and various holiday programmes allow you to make the most of the holidays. The table is set for a traditional Finnish Christmas dinner on 24th December for example in Laanilan Kievari and  Laanilan Savotta Cafe  as well as at  Kiilopää restaurant.  It is advisable to make the table reservation well in advance to secure the place at the Christmas feast.

The national park of Urho Kekkonen has diverse tracks for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
