At the start of this year, cases of pneumonia were diagnosed in Wuhan, China, and a new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has been identified as the cause.  One laboratory-confirmed case of Wuhan coronavirus has been diagnosed in Finland in Lapland Hospital District. The National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is monitoring the Wuhan coronavirus situation together with the ECDC and the World Health Organisation (WHO). WHO is not recommending any specific measures to tourists nor any restrictions on travel or international trade.

THL will be updating this page with the latest information on the spread of the virus and with instructions for preventing infections. Guidelines for persons arriving in Finland from the epidemic area can be found here.
