In the Inari-Saariselkä region the winter lasts well over half a year. The snow is at its thickest in the period from March-April at almost a metre deep. In the fell areas the snow lingers until late May, enabling visitors to go skiing in the warmth of the sunshine. In addition to enjoying the scenery of late winter you can also get a nice tan.
In northern Lapland you can enjoy the light and warmth provided by the spring sun – and still have snow.
