The Inari-Saariselkä region is a paradise for hikers. This is where the two largest national parks of Finland are located, as well as several wilderness areas. Well-marked trails and Finland’s densest network of day cabins and wilderness refuges create an excellent setting for hikers. The marked routes and nature trails of the Urho Kekkonen National Park can be reached via the Saariselkä resort, Fell Centre Kiilopää, Tankavaara’s Visitor Centre and Vuotso’s Lake Sompiojärvi. Marked trails, wilderness refuges, rental cabins and designated campfire sites greatly facilitate hiking in the base of the Lemmenjoki National Park, Lemmenjoki valley, and the goldfields. The hiking trails can be accessed from Njurgalahti and the journey can also be started from deeper within the Lemmenjoki National Park. You can reach the location via a scheduled boat.
Well-marked trails and wilderness refuges with breathtaking views far away in the North.
